Andrew Brown
Andrew's family owned Waddington Fell Quarry, near Clitheroe. He worked there straight from school and describes his own work and that of the quarry.
John Capstick
John has worked at Backfield Quarry, now owned by Tarmac, for most of his working life and relates the changes he has seen over the years.
Ron Driver
Although Ron hasn't worked in the quarrying industry himself, the previous three generations of his family did. He has many memories of both his father and gradfather and their involvement at Bellmanpark Quarry and Limekilns and he often visited the sites himself to carry out errands and look after the family livestock that they kept there.

Mick worked in Horrocksford Quarry before moving to Castle Cement where he did various jobs, ending in the control room. Now retired, he leads tours of the works. He talks here about working with his father, the changes over the years as well as public perceptions of the works. Stephen was a vet in Clitheroe and told us about visiting two farms that were on the land that has been quarried away in Lanehead Quarry. He also describes the old road between Chatburn and Clitheroe before that too disappeared.

Jim started work at Ribblesdale Cement even before the works and quarry were open. His first job was making the concrete blocks from which the offices were built. He moved into the laboratories once the site was running.
