Purple Patch Arts

The Purple Patch Arts groupIn partnership with the Yorkshire Dales National Park Authority the project began with a group of adults with learning disabilities on a residential trip to the National Park and created a sculpture to explore the surroundings in an accessible and immersive way.

Since then they have begun work on a project involving the Skipton Camarata to write a short piece of music and design accessible notation which can be played on a specially crafted ‘Lithophone’. The Lithophone itself, along with the music will remain in place at the National Park so visitors can explore the geology of Malham in an innovative and creative way.
